Hennie and Magriet Jacobs moved to Ermelo from Durban in 1995 with their two sons Ruben and Henkie.
They rented a house in De Bruin Park but the house was for sale and every now and then the agent broad clients to view the house that was for sale. They started to look for another house to rent and asked the Lord to help them find the right house to rent. Hennie was following a Bible reading program at that stage that gave him 3 portions of scripture to read everyday.
The particular day that he needed an answer to his house renting venture he was reading Luk. 22 that describes a house with an upper room. He recalled the only house with a upper room that an agent has shown him previously.
The next morning he went to the house and asked the lady if she is willing to rent out the house. She answered negative indicating that she wants to sell the house. Hennie went back to Magriet and said "then we must buy the house".
Magriet objected and said that they did not see the man with the jar of water to whitch he remarked that in this modern times people don't walk around with water jars anymore. Hennie told this to his colleague at church. 3 Days later this colleague asked Hennie if he saw the man with the water jar at the house that he indicated because he and his wife walked around the neighbourhood and saw a statue with a man in the garden of the house in question.
